??《O Come,O Come,Emma...》——The Piano Guys

??《O Come, O Come, Emma…》 – The Piano Guys

The star-shaped scar on his left abdomen burned anew, a dormant volcano roaring awake. That vicious, radiating mark—every ridge of it seemed to pulse with a silent scream. It was the most terrifying coordinate on the map of his flesh, fate’s cruelest jest: he had been almost torn apart from within—brutally, utterly—by the love of his life.

Beneath her seeking fingertips, the scar wound like a dry riverbed—the ancient, exposed bed of the Arno in a season of drought, rough and unforgiving. The touch was so achingly real it threatened to still her breath. Nyxl felt words rise like phantom bubbles from a sunless sea, too fragile, dissipating into the dark the moment they left her lips, as if never spoken.

In his sinews, however, the echo remained. The rhythm of his breath faltered, then hung suspended, as if the night itself had caught in its own throat. In that crystalline stillness, a tide of possible pasts surged forth: yesterdays with blurred faces, wavering between sacrament and betrayal, flickering in the liminal space where power and pursuit converge. Those deep violet eyes, wells of endless twilight, captured her gaze.

What shimmered within their depths—benediction, or a newer, more subtle chain? Continuity, or a novel confinement? Questions swam like silent leviathans in the profound dark, then sank into the abyss, leaving no ripple. She did not know. He did not know. All that escaped him was a single, waterlogged syllable, dense with the gravity of a whole world:

“Yes.”

And then, it was as if moonlight truly cascaded into her vision—or perhaps it was a luminescence kindled from the marrow out, a slow, incandescent climb up her spine to burst in a soft supernova behind her eyes.

A scorching, tremulous mouth pressed against the epicenter of that savage, ancient scar—a branding iron, white-hot, that seared through his frozen dread.

She rose above him, her shadow spilling over his form—a claiming tide, gentle and complete, upon a solitary shore. The motion traced the stark cartography of his starburst scar—and from his throat escaped a low, resonant sound, rough and guttural, yet not of pain, but of some profound assent. Her hand hovered between them, a leaf trembling in a breath unseen, until his palm—broader, warmer—covered it. Not to still, but to affirm. A press of consent. A guide home.

His touch found the arc of her waist, and the heat of him seeped into her marrow—an anchor in the gathering storm, a silent vow in the deepening night.

“Go on.”

In that suspended moment, pain transmuted. It was no longer mere agony, but a sacred conduit—every nerve alight along its fevered edges, like a spring tide overwhelming the last, fragile breakwater. Sensation and shudder fused into a single, shining thread; waves of flesh and spirit crashed together, indistinguishable, elemental. In the clearing fire of the pain, he perceived her with a terrifying, new clarity:
