第一卷·O(完结小注)
Note:
Please allow me to unpack the cultural and philosophical code embedded in the title of this work’s first volume: “O.”
This is not merely a letter, but a culturally loaded glyph. In the Chinese context, its circular form immediately evokes two primordial concepts: the Void (太虚 Tai Xu) in Daoist cosmology, representing infinite potentiality, and the mirror-like stillness of water, symbolizing reflective clarity.
This sets up a fundamental dialectic. As Zero, it denotes absence, futility, and the emptiness of worldly endeavors—picture “fetching water with a sieve.” As the Circle, it signifies completion, eternity, and cyclical return—like the phases of the moon. This binary is the volume’s conceptual engine.
To embody this, the author employs water as a master metaphor. The seven chapters are systematic variations on its states, constructing a symbolic ecosystem:
The cycle begins with (“Rust-Dart in Rain”) - misty drizzle of this mortal world,
moves through (“Tide’s Tango”) - natural rhythms,
(“Cloud-Tethered Moon”) - ephemeral beauty,
